STARKVILLE, Miss.āIn its 52nd season, Āé¶¹“«Ć½ Stateās theatre program will present a translation of Euripidesā Ancient Greek masterpiece āThe Trojan Womenā on McComas Hallās mainstage.
Theatre MSUās students and production team invite all community members to attend performances taking place Wednesday-Friday [Nov. 11-13] at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday [Nov. 15] at 2:30 p.m. Ā
General admission tickets, which may be purchased at the door or online at , are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under.
Set just after the fall of Troy, āThe Trojan Womenā is a story of female strength and war. The students will be performing Diane Arnson Svarlienās new translation.
āThe women of the play are struggling to cope and find reason in war-time chaos,ā said Cody Stockstill, director and assistant professor. Ā Ā
āEuripides asks some really tough questions and doesnāt necessarily answer them. Thatās where the brilliance of this piece emergesāit asks the audience to form their own opinions about what they are witnessing,ā Stockstill added.
