STARKVILLE, Miss.āA special hour-long documentary about Ā鶹“«Ć½ Stateās 1996 run to the Final Four menās basketball championship will air Friday [Oct. 21] on MSTV, the universityās cable television channel.
To begin at 8 p.m., āThose Boys from Stateā was produced earlier this year by Derek Rogers, a former student now serving as general manager for Columbusā WCBI-TV, the Golden Triangleās CBS affiliate.
Rogersā creation mixes original station broadcast footage of the Bulldogs in hardcourt action with present-day interviews of former team and staff members, as well as TV station employees during that time.
A high-definition channel, MSTV is available at 98/78 on Starkvilleās MaxxSouth cable channel and statewide on C Spire Fiber TV channel 80.
āIt will continue to run in regular rotation on our channel,ā said David Garraway, MSTV general manager and director of MSUās Television Center.
Garraway said the TV Center āalways has valued the strong partnership we have with local media outlets.
āWCBIās documentary is a fitting tribute to a special group of men who brought new heights of success to MSU 20 years ago, and we are honored to work with the Columbus station to bring attention to this magical team,ā he added.
