MPB airing MSU Filmsā āHungriest Stateā this summer
STARKVILLE, Miss.āĀé¶¹“«Ć½ Public Broadcasting will air Āé¶¹“«Ć½ State Filmsā award-winning miniseries āThe Hungriest Stateā this summer.
Each episode of the four-part series will be played multiple times across July and August, with varying start times to accommodate audiences.
āThe Hungriest Stateā examines food insecurity in Āé¶¹“«Ć½, highlighting different perceptions, causes, impacts and solutions to one of the critical issues facing the Magnolia State. Through several stories, the series shows the essential nature of food security at the individual and community levels and the passion of people working to address the inequities that cause food insecurity.
The series garnered national acclaim when its first episode, āThe Last Supermarketā won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2021. Most recently, two episodes ā āThe Domino Effectā and āThe Fisherfolkā ā won Southeast Emmy awards in June.
